This applies to air conditioners and all refrigeration installations using refrigerants as well. F-Gas Category 1 is the perfect course for technicians who wish to expand their expertise beyond their current responsibilities to include working with heat pumps, air conditioners, or refrigeration systems.

The perfect starting point
According to our legislation, not every technician is allowed to work on air conditioners, heat pumps, or other refrigeration and climate control equipment without a special F-Gas certificate. The F-Gas Category 1 course grants you all the necessary permissions to work on installations with more than 3 kilograms of refrigerant content, from air conditioners to larger agricultural sector installations. You’ll have no trouble with it at all!
Practical focus
F-Gas Category 1 is a course focused on practical application. The balance between practical exercises and theoretical learning is 50/50. This ensures that you gain precise knowledge of how to apply everything in your daily work.

What will you learn?
F-Gas Category 1 comprises four key components:
- Refrigerant handling following proper procedures
- Assembly and soldering in real-world scenarios
- Theoretical understanding of refrigeration technology
- Installation & inspection techniques
Refrigerant handling entails evacuating, refilling, and vacuuming the installation with the aim of working entirely emission-free, preventing any refrigerant leakage.
During assembly & soldering, you connect pipes using soldering techniques, ensuring the proper flow of solder material and conducting pressure tests to detect leaks.
Furthermore, you’ll acquire a practical understanding of the theoretical principles underlying refrigeration systems.
What does the 10-day course entail?
You’ll delve into, among other topics, the primary components of refrigeration units and heat pumps, the environmental regulations concerning refrigerants, and how to interpret the H-Log-P Diagram. And here’s the kicker: we’re not big fans of textbook learning alone.
